MILITARY FITNESS

Military fitness is hard, physical and very disciplined. Its aim is to push people to their physical and mental limit to see what sort of character they are and to see them under pressure. At the end of basic training of military fitness trainees should have the necessary skills to work under extreme pressure and have the fitness to carry out their duties.

Army fitness, royal marine fitness and any other force tend to go down the lines of using their own body weight and lots of circuit training workout routines in the gym or outdoors.
The workout routines usually consist of exercises like - press ups, sit ups, lunges, pull ups and shuttle runs. If you look at some typical workout routines for military fitness you will see a pattern of how they use different exercises to work different areas of the body.
For example -
Arms,Chest,Shoulders they would choose exercises such as - press ups or pull ups as theses work most parts of the body.
Stomach and Core they would use exercises such as - sit ups, crunches, leg raises or hanging leg raises.
Legs they would look at squats, lunges or step ups.
Overall Fitness they would use short shuttle runs to push you even more.
A typical workout routines could look like this -

Arms/Chest/Shoulders - press ups
close arm press
tri dips 10 reps of each exercise
incline press
dips
pull ups

Stomach - sit ups
sit up twist
crunchies 20 reps of each exercise
leg raises
hanging leg raises
cycling twists

Legs - squats
lunges
step ups 20 reps of each exercise
pistol squats
duck walk
squat jumps

In between each exercise do a 50m shuttle runs (25m out 25m back) and do one after the other starting from arms through to legs to you complete a total of 18 exercises. Rest for 2 minutes and do it all again.
If you were crap, which 99.9% of the time you were you would either go on the ropes or you'd be on your knees doing more press ups.
These are great workout routines for losing weight, toning up and great for flexibility. There were guys and girls who were on the border with their weight joining who lost a fair bit of it over the space of 4 weeks and you could see muscle coming through, so why not try some military fitness.

Blast Fat With Bodyweight Circuits

More and more people want or need to burn fat and most will give up
after getting little or no results. The reason they don't get the results is
because they are not doing the right bodyweight circuits that will burn fat and
build muscle all at the same time.

Most people go to the gym and when they get there they train using
cardio equipment ( treadmill, stationary bike, etc. ) then they move
on to weight training, and they spend up to 1 hour or more in the gym,
and after a month or so, they are not getting the results they want they
stop exercising all together.

The best way to exercise and get results is to stay home and to exercise
using a bodyweight circuit, with little or no rest at all for five to fifteen
minutes a day.

Most people think jogging will answer all their fat loss problems and the
fact is that even if you jog you still need to do some kind of strength
training to burn fat and this will take more time.

When you exercise using bodyweight circuits you will be working "cardio"
building muscle and burning fat at a very rapid pace.

Bodyweight circuits are the answer for building muscle, flexibility, and
fat burning they always have and always will, after all this is how the
military gets men and women in shape and ready for battle in record
time.

Just to show the benefits of a bodyweight circuit try this sample circuit:

10 pushups-

10 bodyweight squats-

10 jumping jacks-

10 situps

There is no rest in between exercises, move from one exercise to the other,
when you get to the bottom start over and go through the circuit again.

The circuit should be done as fast as possible for five to fifteen minutes.

John Grube is an expert on the subject of bodyweight circuits. He also has 25+ years of training experience and is the author of The Wildman Training Program manual. For more info http://www.wildmantraining.com

Lifetime Fitness - How to Get Off the Fat Farm and Get Back in the Game

Are you physically fit? Did you just wake up one day, look in the mirror and discover that you had become soft and chubby? Let's take this a little further. Are you a fatty? Hey, the truth hurts!

This is one of the biggest problems in America today. A person lets themselves go physically, gets fat and then gets there feelings hurt when someone tells them that they're fat. Of course it's going to hurt their feelings! But the truth of the matter is that no one is "pleasantly plump" so the only way for a person to be confronted is to be honest about it if they're overweight. Yes, you may get some tears rolling, but you also may be saving this person's life because nobody else may have the guts to be honest. Just make sure you're not being a jerk and break the news gently, but firmly.

The first step an overweight person needs to take is to see a doctor for a complete check-up.

This will give them a good idea of how much weight they need to lose, diet plans and fitness programs that they should look into. If a person is morbidly obese then running 5 miles out of the gate is not going to be an option.

Each and every health and fitness plan will be comprised of a variety of concerns and benefits.

The concerns draw mainly upon the warning of balancing your diet and exercise properly, without overdoing it. The benefits, as long as the fitness program is maintained in a healthy way, will involve controlling your weight, improving the performance of all of your bodily organs, increasing strength and endurance, strengthening your respiratory system, boosting your immune system, and improving your general mental and emotional well-being.

Once you begin a physical fitness program, try your hardest to stick to it. Remember, the more physically fit you are the more you will get out of life. Who wants to be out of shape and miss some of the best times with family and friends? Sticking to an exercise plan can be a very trying task, but as long as you have the proper motivation, support, and goals, you will be glad that you did. Achieving a lifetime fitness goal is one of the best things that you will ever do for yourself.

How To Lose Belly Fat With A 10 Minute Workou

Are you looking to change the shape of your body or trying to lose belly fat without joining a high priced gym? If so, try this high energized cardiovascular fitness routine that that was developed by Keli Roberts.
With this 10 minute exercise routine you can burn up to 150 calories every single day.

The first two minutes of this fat burning routine is: Jump Rope - Begin by performing two jumps for each turn of the rope. Safety: Use the correct size jump rope and always land softly on the balls of your feet (that is the upper part of the bottom of your foot). Keep thinking I am losing weight.

Minutes two to three: Squat Thrust into a Push Up. The proper technique for this exercise is to stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your arms strait down next to your sides. Slowly squat down with your head forward and bring your hands to the floor just outside of your feet. Your hands should be pointing forward as well. Then in one movement, push your legs back and out behind you (into a pushup position). Perform one strict pushup and then jump back into your squat position and then stand back up. Keep thinking, the fat is vanishing.

Minutes three to four: Jump Rope with only one jump per turn. Keep thinking, The fat is melting away.

Minutes four to five: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add the Side Plank. After completing your squat thrust and push up, you are going to lift and rotate your left arm off of the ground and over your head. Your left foot will rotate and rest on top of you right foot. And you will rotate your neck so you are looking up at your ceiling. Rotate back to the center and repeat on the other side. When finished, hop back into your squat position, stand up and start again. Keep thinking, no more belly.

Minutes five and six: Jump Rope. Same as minutes three and four. keep thinking, I am losing body fat.

Minutes six and seven: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add the Leg Lift. This is the same as minutes two and three only this time you will lift the toes of one foot about twelve inches off of the ground only after you have performed your push up. Lower your foot and repeat on the other side. Hop back up to your squat position, stand up, and start again. Keep thinking, goodbye belly.

Minutes seven and eight: Jump Rope. Same as minutes three and four. Keep thinking, my belly is getting smaller.

Minutes eight and nine: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add  Mountain Climbers. Repeat everything as in minutes two and three only this time after your push up, you will quickly jog in place from your push up position. Make sure you bring your knees up to your chest on each rotation. Perform 5 jogs and repeat this entire process. Keep thinking, I am going to lose weight.

Minutes nine and ten: Jump Rope. Same as you first two minutes. Keep thinking. If I do this everyday, I will lose belly fat. Good luck to everyone.

We recommend using a soft padding such as a yoga mat when performing this exercise. This will cut down on any injury and save some of those knee joints for you. If you need more information on gym mats and yoga mats, please visit Ultimate Fitness Equipment - for all of your fitness needs.

Pregnancy and Exercise, How to Stay Fit While Being Pregnant

EXERCISE SAFELY

The first thing to understand when you exercise during your pregnancy is to take extra care. This doesn't mean exercise less, rather be sure to know and understand your body limits. Even though exercising during your pregnancy can be beneficial, there are certain risks involved that may be detrimental. Be sure to check in with your doctor or midwife to ensure that you are able to exercise during pregnancy.

Once you have the go-ahead from your physician, keep them updated with how you are doing. Are you experiencing fatigue or pain while you are exercising during your pregnancy? Be sure to let them know if that's the case. It's important to have caution while exercising, and if you're in doubt, check in with your physician. It is also very important to remember that exercising while pregnant isn't mean to improve your physical fitness, rather maintain your physical condition.
While choosing an exercise to do during your pregnancy, be sure to consider ones that involve a partner - be it your spouse, or a friend. Pick pregnancy exercises that you enjoy, as that will help you to stay motivated to exercise during pregnancy Stay away from pregnancy exercises where you might be in danger of falling, losing your balance or getting hit in the abdomen, as these might increase the chance of something going wrong during your pregnancy.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD WORKOUT?

Finding a pregnancy exercise that you enjoy and being able to fit into your schedule is important. You'll soon notice that once you start to experience the benefits of exercising during pregnancy, you'll want to ensure that you exercise regularly. Keep in mind that the best resource for exercise while pregnant will be your healthcare provider.
Two stages of exercising that are important are warming up and cooling down. Even with an exercise such as walking, this will help you to avoid and prevent muscle soreness and stiffness. Try to include 5 to 15 minute sessions of warming up and cooling down while you exercise during your pregnancy.

The best warm up activity is one that is kept at a low-intensity, rhythmic activity, such as walking, or riding a stationary bike. Follow that up with slow, controlled stretches, before proceeding with a higher level of activity. A gentle cool down is also important as you exercise during pregnancy. In order to have an effective cool down, stretch each muscle, one at a time. Gentle toning pregnancy exercises are safe if you keep them to a moderate level. You might also try to include relaxation or deep-breathing exercises as well.

Below is a short list of signs that you should stop exercising:

1) Bloody discharge or any gush of fluid from the vagina

2) Unexplained pain in the abdomen

3) Persistent headaches, changes in vision, faintness or dizziness

4) Marked fatigue, heart palpitations or chest pains

5) Sudden swelling of ankles, face or your hands

HOW MUCH EXERCISE SHOULD I DO?

The best way to decide how much and how often you should exercise during your pregnancy is to follow the FITT principle - Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type.

FREQUENCY

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, women who are pregnant should not exercise for longer than 30 minutes. Even though you may feel good, and that you can keep going, your pregnant body can only handle so much. A good workout program at the beginning of your pregnancy is one that is performed three times a week.

INTENSITY

Throughout your pregnancy, you should aim to exercise moderately. Again, the idea is not to improve your physical fitness, rather to maintain. Overtraining can be damaging to you and your body, as well as your baby's. Learn how to take your pulse, and do not exceed 15 to 20 beats per minute more than normal. If you find it difficult to talk while you are exercising, you might be exercising to heavily while you are pregnant.

TIME

Be advised that you should begin your exercising in short workouts. Pushing yourself to quickly might result in soreness of the muscles, as well as exhaustion. During the first few weeks of your pregnancy, you should exercise no more than 15 minute sessions. Once you feel comfortable with that duration, exercising for up to 30 minutes during your pregnancy should benefit you greatly. This increase in time shouldn't occur until you are into your second trimester, however. It is important that you listen to your body if you exercise while being pregnant. If you find yourself tired and sore after a workout, cut back until you can feel comfortable with the amount.

TYPE

Whether you prefer to exercise during your pregnancy alone, or with a friend or group of friends, it's important to decide which type of activity you will perform. Some activities that women who are pregnant find helpful are swimming, walking, stair-climbing, stationary cycling, and special prenatal aerobics and aquatic classes. Some of these activities such as walking and swimming, can be done in moderation even up until the day you deliver.

Developing Good Fitness Habits

So many of the clients I train talk about how they don't have the will or discipline to stick with theirworkout program.

The thing that they don't seem to understand is that it really is not about will or drive or discipline. It is simply about habits. Think of it this way, you don't have to have determination to brush your teeth and take a shower do you? No. You just do it.

That is the big difference between all the people who are in shape in the fitness area and the one's who are not. That's it really.

Although it does take drive to develop a workout or fitness habit, there are some things you can do to make it successful and easier and set yourself up for success.

Keeping to your workout schedule. So, we are creatures of habit and this is a really important thing to allow for when setting up your schedule. Ok here is the deal....the first 3 months is critical to developing a habit to the point that you never again have to reallly "think" about if you're going to workout or eat right. So like I said before the best case scenorio, working out for you should be like brushing your teeth. Leaving no question as to wether or not you are going to workout. You just do. No questions asked. The minute you skip a workout, you break the habit your sub conscience is trying develop.

Chemicals and fissures actually develop in your brain when it comes to this. It is just like creating a trail in the wild at first. The more you hike through it, the easier it gets to walk through it and the less you have to navigate. Habits are way more powerful than merely telling yourself "I need to workout because I am out of shape". Our mind just doesn't work like that. The easiest way to get to this point is to either take a class, use a trainer, or meet up with someone who is more determined than you are, so that you don't have to think about your workout and that you just have to do your workout.

Think about it....treat it like a habit before it even becomes one and you are on your way to that mindset. Coming to the fitness center to meet with a trainer to workout or take a class is great because you are already in the mindset of " I don't have to problem solve or think, I simply need to do something without thinking. That is the type of activity you need to develop the habit you want. Something were you can just show up.

This is why I get agitated with a trainer when they don't follow up with a no show. It's so much more than being upset at that client's lack of follow thru. Getting out of this habit, not doing what you set out to do has a direct impact on your confidence or lack of it.

Do yourself a favor and set yourself up for success from the get go.

1. Make it conveinent. No one wants or will drive 50 miles after a hard day of work. Make sure you pack your clothes in your car before you go to work if you work. The minute you get home from a hard day at work is the minute you end up staying at home. After all you see the laundry that needs to get done, the bills that need paying. Home is a never ending excuse believe me.

2. Get with a person who is a few steps ahead of you. Always, when you want to develop your habit for success and have success developing your habit, you need to be around people you want to be like. You need to feed off their energy. Dale Carnegie once said that if he lost everything and became poor, he would immediately find a place where there were a lot of rich people because, just being around their energy alone would put him in a great place to make a comeback.

3. Make it the same time everyday. Make it happen after the same event if you can every day. The trigger in your brain that tells you that it's time for bed or to go to work will be the same trigger that tells you that it is time for your workout. You see, less stuff to cognitively think about will add more space to just do and be.

4. Make it enjoyable. For all that is good and right with the world....for Gods sake make it enjoyable. There is no reason to do a boring, tired workout. Please don't waste your life doing one. Instead, find out who to workout with and what to do to make it fun.

5. Stay on it for three months without results being your main concern. Go ahead and do the best one for you and look forward to the results, but do it knowing that the results if done right will come and just do it.

The Benefits of Being Fit

The Benefits of Being Fit

This article was written to answer many of the most frequently asked questions on this topic. I hope you find all of this information helpful.

Being able to cope with and handle the everyday stresses of life is a advantage afforded to the fit individual. Making sure we take the time to accommodate our needs for stress relief, such as downtime, treatment time, massage time, or merely take the time for a pleasant, hot bath. The body tends to hold stress in the muscles of the shoulder and back. Taking the time to let go, do relaxation exercises, and unite this with physical exercise for the whole body benefits the fit and unfit.

The added action of physical exercise is frequently the catalyst our bodies needed to raise weight loss into high gear. For the person trying to loose weight, the benefits of being fit far surpass an infringement on personal time, or detraction from TV time that occurs. Not only is it good for your body, when you?re trying to cut back, it gives you something useful to do with your time. Exercise also decreases our appetite pangs, increases our fluid intake, and assists our blood to circulate much better.

The tranquillity of mind that comes from knowing your body is in top form, ready to cope whatever comes along, is a priceless ownership. To be able to ascertain that you?ve spent your day wisely, and invested in yourself is a real feat. The gain seen from adding just 20 minutes of exercise to your daily routine are incredible. I can swear to the tremendous increase in vitality, as a participant in walking for exercise. I lost a total of 74 lbs. in one year, by simply adding walking to may schedule. I had been dieting for almost two months, with very little in the way of results. Walking was suggested by my doctor, and I?ve never been so impressed. My vitality levels were three times what they were prior to start the exercise program. Increased energy levels are one of the greatest benefits of a fit body.

Raised self-esteem and confidence in your appearance are also benefits to keeping a fit body. A fit and healthy individual shines in how they look, how they treat others, and the enjoyment they take in going about their daily activities.

How about the benefits of a fit mind? The onset of many age-related cognitive disorders occurs because we haven?t taken the time to keep our mind young, and implicated in new learning. Learning new things forces our brains to form new neural pathways. We need those neural pathways for the transfer of information from the body to the mind, or with our aptitude to shape new memories. If we don?t exercise the mind, we lose the fitness. There?s also the added benefit of being able to participate as a productive citizen, well into our retirement years. For many older persons, keeping their bodies and minds fit means that they are also able to carry on to interact in their chosen work profession, keeping them continually active, and serving as a continued source of pleasure.

The information you just read was pulled from many different resources. You should continue searching for information until you believe you have a firm grasp of the subject. I do want to thank you for visiting and good luck.
